The original drawing I did of him.
He was originally meant to be a fancharacter for a surreal Youtube series.
Lemme know if you guess it.

By Florim's nature as a really not-serious character, he doesn't really have any established lore or anything. I have vague beats (I strongly feel as if he lives in the sewer system), but otherwise messing around with Florim is just throwing bits at the wall and seeing what sticks.

I don't exactly remember when he was originally created, though I do remember for what and where.

I'd clock it at maybe 2017 at the absolute latest, in a Discord server that I only really half wanted to be in with people that I either didn't really click with or felt actively disgusted with (at worst).

Florim escaped from there, though, and from then on I just...left him.

That is, until May 2018-ish, where I (then a high school junior, I believe) uploaded the original doodle to toyhou.se in the middle of the school day, and from then I just...started doodling him all over.

I scribbled him in the margins, drew him during tabletop club sessions, even used him for a brief stint in a Call of Cthulhu game dmed by one of the other club members (I don't know why you let me do that, Chris, but thanks!)

Before I knew it, Florim had pretty much captured my heart, and that was without me ever giving him any substantial lore or redesign.

And...honestly? I wouldn't have it any other way.

Florim's one of my mainstays, I think, and I don't see that ever changing in the future. He's not complicated, but he doesn't have to be. He is simply my web star.

(Again, no idea how our DM let me play him in a Call of Cthulhu game, but wow I am forever thankful. It was so funny.)

By the way, the nickname "web star" itself comes from my friend Sam, and from the title of a little pixel art thing he did of Florim a long time ago. You can see it as the page icon up above!

Sam is also responsible for Florim's page dividers, as well as several other notable Florim artifacts. :)
